pontoon bridge
The. is located right in the center of Willemstad pontoon bridge. The Pontjes Bridge connects the Punda and Otrobanda districts. The pontoon bridge is also called the 'Queen Emma Bridge' and is a very small bridge compared to the 'Queen Juliana Bridge' opposite. But certainly no less beautiful! The Pontjes Bridge is especially beautiful to look at in the evenings because of the different colored lights that create a lot of atmosphere. Take a nice evening walk or grab one of the terraces that can be found near the Pontjes Bridge.
Nice to know: The pontoon bridge opens sideways for boats that have to go from the sea to the harbor and vice versa. It is possible to stand on the bridge when it opens!
UNESCO districts
One of the most photographed places on Curaçao are the UNESCO districts, especially the trading quay in the Punda district. The trading quay is located along the Pontjes Bridge and the colored buildings provide a cozy appearance that will put everyone in a good mood. The other districts are Pietermaai, Scharloo and Otrobanda.

Nice to know: Every year in Curaçao it is Kaya Kaya Street Festival celebrated. The festival takes place in Otrobanda and focuses on art (murals), music, food and culture. If you are in Curaçao when the festival takes place, this is definitely worth it!
